THE AMY ROLOFF CHARITY FOUNDATION HOSTS ITS FIRST ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF BENEFIT AT ROLOFF FARMS AND PUMPKIN RIDGE

Amy Roloff along with Former NBA Portland Trail Blazer Michael Harper take the competition to the course, in support of benefiting Dwarf Athletic Association of America and local organization Bridge Meadows

July 28, 2009 (Hillsboro, Oregon) – Amy Roloff (TLC’s Little People, Big World) and Michael Harper (Portland Trail Blazer alum) will be hosting a golf benefit on behalf of the Amy Roloff Charity Foundation to support the Dwarf Athletic Association of America (DAAA), and local organization Bridge Meadows. The event includes a Golf Tournament Tee-off Dinner and Auction on September 13th at the Roloff Farms, as well as a Golf Tournament on September 14th at Pumpkin Ridge Ghost Creek Golf Club.

Entertainment will be provided at the Roloff Farms on Sunday, September 13th by local country band, Concrete Cowboys – the Northwest’s hottest Country music, six-person band lead by Chad Kessner.  Silent Auction items will be displayed throughout the Farm’s Western Town, and Johnna Wells will host the Oral Auction.  Amazing auction items include: Celebrity hosted dinners, AC Green mini Basketball camp, Jamaican getaway, Tuscan Italian Villa, Rockstar mini motorcycle, autographed memorabilia – including autographed fishing gear from the Deadliest catch, local business supported fun baskets and much more.

The Golf scramble will be held at Pumpkin Ridge’s Ghost Creek Golf Club on September 14th, featuring an 18-hole course of perfect greens and gently rolling terrain. Special prizes will be awarded for first through fourth team gross, first through forth team net, long drive, closest to the pin and hole-in-one.

All proceeds will help support the DAAA and Bridge Meadows. Formed in 1985, the DAAA encourages people with dwarfism to participate in athletics to facilitate the development of personal character while building self-confidence. The DAAA provides support to dwarf athletes by providing opportunities to participate in regional and national athletic competitions, by supporting Paralympics and World Dwarf Games as well has acting as advocates for dwarf athletes. ABOUT AMY ROLOFF CHARITY FOUNDATION:

Amy Roloff is an active citizen, wife, busy mother of four, television celebrity, farmer and founder of the Amy Roloff Charity Foundation. ABOUT MICHAEL HARPER:

Michael Harper played on 3 National Championship Basketball teams at North Park University before joining the Portland Trail Blazers in 1980.  During his time with the Trail Blazers, he incorporated excellent play with a commitment to family and community.

After completing 2 seasons with the Trail Blazers, he opted to join the European Basketball League playing for 6 more years.  Two years each in Italy, France and Spain.

Upon his return to Portland, Michael joined the Portland Trail Blazer staff and participated on the Trail Blazer Alumni charity basketball team.  Along with some dedicated former Trail Blazers, Michael helped community organizations throughout the State of Oregon and SW Washington raise over $2,000,000 playing FUND RAISING Basketball.

Michael is currently a member of the State of Oregon’s Commission on Children and Families, a Royal Rosarian’s, a High School Basketball Coach, Auctioneer and motivational speaker.  He resides in West Linn, Oregon with his wife of over 25 years and has successfully raised 3 wonderful children.  He has accomplished all this, while maintaining a full time career as an agent for State Farm Insurance.
